Our clients love granite, with its great style, unique appearance and solid durability, the stone has become a popular choice. Resistant to heat, granite countertops have been tested to last for years with wear and tear. Granite is resistant to mold and mildew when sealed by our team. Granite countertops are perfect for areas frequently exposed to water, temperature fluctuation and UV light, such as kitchens baths, table tops, backyards and more. It doesn’t have to come in a shiny polished finish, matte finishes including leathered and honed are now options.

Why we love granite

Sustainability. Granite countertops can last for the lifetime of your home, they contain no harmful chemicals and because they do not emit gasses, they have a place in the green building movement.
Heat Resistance. Granite is one of the most heat resistant surfaces on the market. Experts recommend the use of potholders when an appliance puts off heat for long periods of time, for example a crockpot. The material is very dense, there is a possibility that heating one area and not the whole surface, could cause the countertop to crack.
Scratch Resistance. On Moh’s scale of hardness granite scores a seven. This means that the stone is resistant to scratches. Cutting on the surface is not recommend since this will dull your knives and could leave residue behind that is difficult to remove.
Seams: In a normal kitchen the granite may need to have a few seams. The slab sizes can vary depending on the type you choose. A normal slab can be in the neighborhood of 9 feet by 5 feet. Large islands can be done without seams depending on slab size. If your design has a L or U shape to its layout, expect seams where the countertops have angles in different directions. The great news is we can mix custom color glue to adhere the seams together, this does a great job at making them less visible.
Under-mount Sinks. We can install under-mount sinks to granite. This lets you wipe your countertop surfaces directly into the sink without being caught on the lip of a surface mount sink. You can consider using several types of sinks including cast iron, stainless steel, solid surface and apron front (farm house).
Backsplash Options. Typically, a separate 4” piece of the stone slab will be adhered on top of your countertop surface. Tile and full-height granite backsplashes are also used.
Repairs. It is rare to get a crack or chip in your countertops, but if you do, contact us for a service call. Most of the time, a color-matched epoxy can be used to fill the void and it will be virtually invisible.
Sealing. We seal all of our granite with a sealant that will last for at least 10 years with proper care.
Maintenance. Granite countertops are considered to be a low maintenance countertop surface. Proper care for the stone will keep it looking like new for years. Click here for more on stone care.
Exotic Options. If you would love something truly unique, look at an exotic granite. The options are limitless and we can special order a stone you love.
Stain Resistance. All of our granite is sealed and will last 10 years or more with basic care. We do recommend that you clean up spills quickly to prevent stains and possible discoloring of lighter areas.
